The Genesis of Bewitching Beauty Events
Amy Shell, one of the co-founders of Bewitching Beauty Events, shares how the idea for the company came to be. While attending cosmetology school, Amy attended a music festival and realized that there was a missing opportunity for hair booths at such events. Recognizing that festival-goers are already spending money on various aspects of the festival, Amy saw the potential for offering unique festival looks that would keep attendees’ hair stylish and out of the way. This idea remained with her as she worked alongside Jacquilynn Proctor, and eventually, they decided to turn their passion for hair and makeup into a business.
The Power of Partnership
Amy explains how Jacquilynn (Jaci) Proctor became her business partner. Originally intending to hire Jaci as a stylist, Amy was pleasantly surprised when Jaci expressed her interest in becoming a partner and going in 50/50. Together, they set up their first event at the Pickin’ On Picnic music festival in St. Clair, MO, and the response exceeded their expectations. Festival-goers were thrilled to have the option of hair braiding at a music festival and spread the word about Bewitching Beauty Events throughout the crowd. This successful start paved the way for a promising 2022 season.
